QHIBackPainTreatmentOur Evidence-based approach has shown that a multi-disciplinary team approach is the most effective treatment for neck and back pain. At the Quadra Health Institute, we believe in a tiered-step approach to spine care attempting conservative treatments first before considering more invasive, and often unnecessary surgical options. With our team approach to care, patients do not have to deal with what is called “fragmented care.”

This is an unfortunate phenomenon in the U.S. medical system where patients are left with the confusing challenge of directing their own care, while shuffling from one provider to the next, with no one seemingly capable or interested in providing the more thorough, inter-disciplinary care they need.

Our comprehensive conservative care approach, involving the patient as a “care team member” and emphasizing physical activity, aggressive interventional techniques, with a behavioral approach, assures successful treatment outcomes of spinal and sports injuries as well as appropriate pain management.

Selective Functional Movement Assessment: (SFMA)

The Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) is a series of 7 fullbody movement tests designed to assess fundamental patterns of movement such as bending and squatting in those with known musculoskeletal pain. When the clinical assessment is initiated from the perspective of the movement pattern, the clinician has the opportunity to identify meaningful impairments that may be seemingly unrelated to the main musculoskeletal complaint, but contribute to the associated disability. This concept, known as Regional Interdependence, is the hallmark of the SFMA.

SFMA is designed to complement the existing exam and serve as a model to efficiently integrate the concepts of posture, muscle balance and the fundamental patterns of movement into musculoskeletal practice. SFMA offers an efficient approach to the treatment and dysfunction of pain.

Our standardized clinic model ensures isolating the cause of injury and efficient care.
